Cryptography (noun)

The study and practice of hidden and coded language.

Geek Fact:

There are many codes that, as of yet, remain undecoded. Examples are Kryptos, a sculpture by Jim Sanborn located at CIA headquarters; some of the letters from the Zodiac killer; and the Beale Papers, nineteenth century coded messages that supposedly lead to a buried treasure worth $40 million.
